Staying ahead in the Top 100
07 Jun 2010
It’s that time of year when we can benchmark how we’re doing. The Design Week Top 100 Consultancy Survey published last week is only a snapshot but allows us to see what we have to do, to stay ahead. The overriding out-take from the report is that 2009 was a tough year and we did well, moving up all the rankings to- No.4 in the Top 100
- No.1 for corporate branding
- No.4 for digital
- No.4 for print
No.4 in the Top 100
We moved up from 5th spot to 4th – a strong performance in 2009, but income is down across the board as clients spent less. Our 6% fall in revenue fairs well compared to the 13% average drop by the Top 100 groups. Our integrated offer and ability to draw diversity from our Loewy stable continues to serve clients well. The collective results of the Team, Seymour Powell, Epoch and Williams Murray Hamm in the Top 100 would rank Loewy at number 2.
No1 for corporate branding
The good news is that we top the charts for corporate branding with a 19% increase in 2009 so we have a 12% market share, up from 3rd place in 2008. It’s important to be a market leader in this space to take serve potential start-ups, mergers and acquisitions. Importantly our strategic branding and brand engagement both gives clients an advantage in consumer engagement, employee engagement and digital business.
No.4 for digital
We have jumped 2 places from no.6 to 4th place in the digital list and it’s in digital where there is a significant growth in business in the Top 100. As predicted, marketing budgets will switch to digital, so agencies like us who are committed to digital are well placed as clients put digital solutions at the heart of their brand communications plans.
No.4 for print We are upto no.4 from 6th spot in this years listing as print is a natural extension of branding. Interestingly despite the meteoric rise in digital, print is healthy as clients increase their engagement of audiences in their brand promise through integrated communications.
Looking ahead in 2010
When the Top 100 report data was collected in March agencies were cautiously upbeat assuming that 2010 wouldn’t be worse than 2009. We will continue to adapt to stay ahead and meet the challenges to come serving our clients with innovative solutions and ideas that deliver results.
