Canonical.
Delivering a competitive edge in the crowded Operating System marketplace.
“The Team has become a trusted partner. They understand our brand and they always come up with a fresh approach to everything we throw at them.” Iain Farrell, Project Manager
Challenge.
Canonical – curators of the Ubuntu project – has developed an innovative operating system for use on laptops, netbooks, desktop PCs and servers. Their key challenge? Getting beyond 20 million active users.
Belief.
Building a profile in this competitive marketplace would always be difficult, but through an understanding of the buying process, and the decisions made along the way, we believed we could persuade customers to consider Ubuntu in a classic retail environment.
Idea.
We brought two key ideas together; first, understand what people are looking for from an operating system and, second, convey this in an engaging, reassuring, high quality manner.
Delivery.
We’ve delivered a range of material supporting this strategy, including in- store showreels highlighting the benefits of choosing Ubuntu, a music player desktop application and a photo application. The client is absolutely delighted, and we’re now translating the showreel into several languages ready for the march into new territories!
