Audience.

When the power cuts out do you light some candles? Plenty of people do, including Jodi Blenkinsop from Lincoln - who promptly started a fire in her lounge. Fortunately she had smoke alarms – a fact which undoubtedly saved her and her little boy Jake’s life.

Challenge.

The Department for Communities and Local Government needed a way to increase the uptake in smoke alarms in order to save more lives. They had to attract a diverse range of audience and this played a large part in the way this work could be achieved.

Insight.

Our solution combines clear messages with simple illustrations and bold colours to create a striking campaign identity – a natural extension of the Fire Kills logo itself. Key messages and visual cues are combined to ensure that the information presented is memorable, quickly imparted and easily understood.

Result.

The brand we’ve created for Fire Kills conveys in an instant the devastating effects of fire. It does what it says on the box, simply and directly. After all, “Pull your finger out”, “Plan your escape”, “Stop, drop and roll” are messages that need to save lives.
