Global Action Plan.
Global Action Plan (GAP) is a charity that helps deliver environmental improvements in homes, the workplace, schools and the wider community. They help people make little changes which will have a big impact on their carbon footprint. We impressed GAP at the pitch stage with our website design ideas and logos for the campaign name and went on to design and build a website that exceeded their requirements.
I think bananas grow on trees somewhere sunny, and peas come from a pod, don’t they?
Over 1,300 schools have registered.
Audience.
Learning about the environment is not always a fun task for young school children. However, it can be when there is a really fun and exciting way to learn, get involved and compete with other schools. In 2008, BSkyB chose Global Action Plan as their new charity partner, offering over £1m as well as access to Sky resources and expertise.
Challenge.
Together, GAP and Sky decided to focus their efforts on engaging schools in an ambitious programme for carbon reduction supported and endorsed by the United Nations Environment Programme. Our challenge was to create the campaign brand and marketing strategy for this new initiative before developing an interactive website to engage and support schools through the programme.
Insight.
Following the creation of the Appetite for Action brand identity and agreement on the marketing approach with GAP and Sky, we developed a social networking and online resource site as the foundation for the programme. The site enables schools to create multiple teams, upload photos and create their own blogs.
Result.
Once registered, they can also find other schools in their area and those with similar plans to share ideas and talk online. GAP is able to review and record all activity on the site. See for yourself at: http://schools.appetiteforaction.org.uk
