Audience.

Have you seen the adverts where Mitchell and Webb star portraying PC users stereotyped as being academics, while Mac users are showed to be creative types? Microsoft have been trying to move away from this image for a number of years now.

Challenge.

Microsoft needed a campaign to encourage devoted Mac users to purchase Microsoft Office products which are usually used by PC users. We were asked to develop a creative advertising campaign for Mac:office in order to achieve this.

Insight.

We decided to concentrate on the next generation of Mac:office users – design students. We created an irreverent and eye-catching advertising campaign comprising a series of unconventional posters that depicted imposing images of everyday, office stationery products, complemented with oxymoron style headlines to support key benefits.

Result.

By relating Mac:office to these simple yet invaluable office products we subliminally delivered the message that Mac:office helps you to work more efficiently so that you have more time to spend on being creative – a message further reinforced in the body copy.
