Reinforcing an acquisition
The Challenge
In 2023, Colt acquired Lumen Technologies business in Europe.
Combining Colt’s best in class customer experience with Lumen’s Technologies customer base increased the scale and reach of Colt in Europe dramatically.
But as our Brand Strategy Director, Kevin MacKenzie told us, “With any acquisition, no matter how great it appears, questions will arise in the minds of customers. It’s when the risk of disruption is at its highest. That’s when a brand needs to be crystal clear on its value proposition.”
Colt asked us to develop a short-term campaign that would reassure existing customers while also appealing to new customers with its promise of great service.
With NPS scores in the 80s, Colt has a strong message.
The Solution
Analysts highlighted that this acquisition enabled Lumen Technologies to continue to serve multinational enterprise customers through its strategic partnership with Colt worldwide. And, it gave Colt access to business expansion in new markets via its partnership with Lumen.
Colt already had leading-edge technology solutions and could point to how its AI-enabled services would keep its customers networks up and running.
Now, with new sub-sea cables and data centres it meant that Colt’s customers could not only connect more, they could do more.
This became our campaign mantra.
As The Team’s Design Director, Ryan Miller told us, “Often it’s a question of looking at the strengths that already exist in a brand. Colt were already talking about making ‘Extraordinary Connections’ and we just let our work focus on the more connections that customers could now make.”
