Supermarket Income Reit: Sustainability Report 2024
Investing in a sustainable future
Supermarket Income REIT (SUPR)
As part of a reporting suite, the Sustainability Report represents a mark in the sand as part of SUPR’s commitment to improving how they impact people and the planet, and how their sustainability strategy adds value.
The Challenge
This year, SUPR focused on refining their sustainability approach, enhancing ESG data processes, and establishing long-term targets.
To kick-start these efforts, they completely refreshed their sustainability strategy. So, the Team was tasked with capturing these elements and showcasing the progress achieved.
Our Approach
Previously, SUPR had produced their Sustainability Report in-house, and as their sustainability strategy was not yet established, this iteration was a basic disclosure.
So, with this in mind, we decided that the report required a well-defined theme, a narrative structure and a creative concept that expressed the new sustainability story more impactfully and engagingly.
The Solution
Firstly, we began with regulatory reporting and best practice consultancy.
Then, we set about structuring the report around SUPR’s three strategic pillars, using case studies to highlight their progress and demonstrate the positive community impact and environmental improvements made in their transition to net zero.
For consistency, we ensured the report followed the same visual language as previous reports, and that there was signposting and linkage to avoid repetition and reduce content. And we drove impact and prioritised accessibility through the use of authentic and engaging photography, strong graphics and metrics.
The Result
As a result, a user-friendly, digital-first report was developed: an interactive landscape PDF launched on the investor page of their website.
The Sustainability Report represents a bold communication of SUPR’s new and well-defined sustainability strategy: aligning perfectly with their other disclosures as part of a suite.
